Laura Patterson. Laura a native of Derry was crowned Miss Ireland at the glamorous pageant event in Dublin on September 26th, where she did beat off stiff competition to be crowned Miss Ireland 2009.

The next step for Laura, a law & accounting student at the University of Ulster Derry will be a two week visit to London to prepare for the final of Miss World which will be held in Johannesburg for a second year. Laura will spend just over 4 weeks in the Sunny city with models from all over the World before the Final of the Competition. Laura mentioned at the opening of the Spa that she was very much looking forward to the big event and hoped that people from the area would tune into the televised final on 12th December, which will have an audience of 2 billion people.

Laura’s bubbly personality is really what makes her shine through & the large crowd at the event enjoyed her company at the after Launch Champagne reception which took place in the new Woodlands Suite Lobby.

Lynne Smyth Spa Manager spoke to on the night of the introduction to the spa of a range of safe & effective cancer care treatments which are specifically designed to provide relief & comfort to the patient. Scientific studies have shown that cancer patients receiving massage have lower anxiety scores that those receiving no massage therapy. More information is available from the Seascape

Also launched on the night was the new Seascape Spa Brochure which outlines the wide range of treatments available at the Spa including, purifying scrubs, exotic wraps, massages, spray tans & make up application to name but a few.

The event ended with a balloon burst with prize giveaways, which was an entertaining end to a successful night for Rose & Ciaran Blaney owners of The Silver Tassie Hotel.
